The Satluj is more than water crossing land — it is movement, continuity, and the quiet
strength of people who carry their stories forward. Satluj Coin was born from that feeling:
the wish to honour a difficult chapter in our shared past while building something hopeful
for the next generation.
The years between 1984 and 1995 left deep marks on countless families and communities.
We do not pretend to speak for everyone, nor do we turn pain into spectacle. We simply
acknowledge that many of us grew up hearing about courage under pressure, about voices
that refused to be silenced, and about the cost of standing for truth when it was
dangerous to do so.
Spirit of the Satluj story
This project draws cultural inspiration from the emotional landscape of the Satluj film —
not as a copy of any scene or character, but as a tribute to themes that resonate widely:
loyalty to community, sacrifice for others, and the belief that light can return after
long seasons of darkness. The app is our way of keeping conversation, learning, and
connection alive in a modern form.

In memory of courage
We hold special respect for human-rights defenders who documented truth when it was
hard to find — including the legacy of Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra, whose work reminded
many families that their loved ones would not be forgotten. Satluj Coin is not a political
platform and does not claim endorsement from any person or organisation. It is a
community space inspired by the values of dignity, remembrance, and service.
